Ateljé Sami Tallberg x Söderlångvik (1.10.2023 - 20.12.2024)

Ateljé Sami Tallberg X Söderlångvik was a renovation and consulting project created for Konstsamfundet and Villa Söderlångvik. Tallberg took complete charge of the entire project, including kitchen renovation within agreed budget, working to a tight seven month project schedule. All targets were achieved and many expectations exceeded.

The seasonal restaurant was built around a five-course lunch with shared starters, and featured a quirky cafe with a menu based on nutrient-dense international dishes. Think kale Caesar with smoked brill and zuppa di pesce with nettle pesto! The dairy and gluten-free menu was so remarkable that customers would drive long distances just to experience it. Though no longer operating, this concept restaurant showcased Sami's innovative approach to wild food cuisine.

Evenings were reserved exclusively for Chef's Table experiences, where vinyl records played and champagne flowed.

In summer 2023, the restaurant was open for 150 consecutive days, serving 12,000 guests. Gourmet destination tourists, museum visitors and other food enthusiasts were captivated by Tallberg's unique biohacker-proof food, alongside the interior design by concept designer Sanna Gebeyehu and the photographic installations by artist Niclas Warius.

Inspired by Tallberg's "Stay wild, Stay weird, Stay free" ethos that matches with the spirit of Amos Anderson, this collaboration continues to influence Ateljé Sami Tallberg, even though the restaurant itself has since relocated to a new secret spot in the Turku archipelago.
